I’m Benji Heywood, full-time Director of Ultimate at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. I sit on the WFDF rules committee, and the UK SotG committee, and was Competitions Manager at both WU23 2015 and WUGC 2016. I also do some coach education for UK Ultimate whenever courses run in Scotland.
Above all, I’m a nerd with a scientific mindset, and I like to understand the real detail of what we do in Ultimate – the techniques, the tactics, the drills, the psychology… This blog is both a place to share my thoughts and a chance for me to learn from you. Comments welcome!
Why am I doing this? Honestly, it’s because I love to talk, and the internet is a great place to find people who are prepared to listen…
Is there an email address you can be contacted at?
I haven’t created one for this, and I’m not wanting all the spam that’ll come from putting one of my own emails online… can you message me through the facebook page? If not, I’ll create a hotmail one just for the blog.
I still think that your post on Spirit of the Game was the most brilliant analysis of the self-governance model we use. https://understandingultimate.wordpress.com/2013/07/15/sotg-morality-and-economics. It informs every discussion I have within WFDF on the topic. Thanks.
